Default Throttle/Idle issue on my 96 Xplorer

Sometimes when I back off the throttle all the way and bring down to an idle it will sputter and sometimes even kill, I just completely cleaned carb, so I dont think thats the issue...I can remedy it by turning idle up but then I run into to high of idle to shift without gears grinding...thinking it might have something to do with ETC?

did you physically take the top off and look inside? on polaris's the cable adjustment is basically the same and the adjuster is on the the cable ,just farther down but still in the handlebar area.
if that's not it then try adjusting the air mix

Some older ones adjust right out of the throttle box, theres a lock ring on the cable, may need 2 pair of pliers to get it loose.
