Is the new suretrack diff alot better than the 450 and will it spin both wheels, if one is in the air will the other pull as advertised I hear it`s not as good as honda claims?

 

I can tell you that the Rancher differential does put a little power to the wheel with traction HOWEVER it doesn't work as well as Honda would have you believe. Our club members have pictures of me in a mud hole with one wheel in the air spinning.

It does pull if all 4 wheels are on the ground.

 

yep, snowshark is right. We got burried today up in warm soft snow on a sled trail and my rubicon and the other 4 ranchers where really screwed. It works much better than the old 450's style, but still not a 100% power transfer.

 

it does seem to work better than yamaha's version.
i ride a lot on very large rocks that usually end
up leaving one front wheel in the air. the wheel
touching helps pulling me forward over the boulder
so it must work somewhat. iv'e only had it a week
but i am pleased with the machine. can't wait to
see how the 650 prarie does

I ride with all 450's and they are dissapointed that they don't have this feature.If you have one wheel in the air spinning-tap your front brakes it will engage the other wheel.I feel the system works and works great!

 

Is that what you do to get the diff to transfer to the other wheel,[grab the front brake]Is it a good quad for mud rancher es

 

I agree with snowshark. My experience, only a year, is that it does work better than other "limited slip" front diff's. It works very well when equal weight is on all 4 wheels and will spin all 4 tires. Sometimes you may have to twist the handle bars back and forth to activate it. If one wheel is up in the air, you can try tapping the front brake lever or again, twist the handle bars back and forth. That works for me!
