2006 Polaris Hawkeye 4x4 Winter Preparation
#1
Well, I'm new here, so talk slowly please!
I have a Polaris Hawkeye on it's way up to New York, from Texas. There is a foot of snow here in a lot of places, so I'm wondering what I need to do to prepare for the colder temperatures. Oil, grease, stuff like that. I'm using stock tires, and plan on keeping it that way.
Also, keep it as cheap as possible, please!

You might want to change the engine oil right away, just in case they had a heavier weight oil in it, seeing it is coming from Texas. Always a good idea to check all fluids and do a maintenance check on a new machine. Good Luck with your new purchase.

Please allow me to borrow this thread on a related note. I have a 2005 Polaris 500 ATP and the dealer told me I HAVE to use Polaris oil. Is this a fact or is their an oil I can substitute since the nearest dealer is 50 miles away?
