YFM 225 Moto 4 decompression lever,

I have an 86 YFM 225 moto 4.
I have just noticed it has a decompression lever on the cylinder head. It has electric start and no pull start.

When should I be using the decompression lever?

I have the same atv and its used for when you need to pull start it you take the cap off the left side of the motor there is a pully you rap a rope around to pull start.

I had an 86 200 Moto4, with pull and electric, if I was pull starting it, flipping up the lever made it pull and spin a lot faster, for easier starts, electric start i never bothered with it.
