Default cant decide on tires for daughters magnum

HI,
Ive done the search and have been looking alot on line as well as goggling and im just not sure of what to get.
My kid is 13,been riding it on her own for a couple years, and her tires on the 02 are just about bald[in atv terms]We ride all over MAINE ,from rocky mountainous terrain,to potatoe feild roads in AROOSTOCK.We dont do alot of deep mudding,or swamping[,ive drowned that machine myself before and found it costly]but on occasion have to go through a bad spot.
Having owned this MAGNUM since new in 02 and another we had [an 00]we have experienced rear hub failure in both quads,a few times each. With the positive rear axle and the hard rocky trails we have the aluminum hubs dont stand up well when the wheels wont slip.Even one summer after a dealer repaired and inspected a failed hub and certified the shaft to be perfect ,we still lost another a short while later on the 00,causing is to put our older daughter on a sportsman and selling the 00 MAGNUM.
Im afraid too aggresive of a tire is gonna cause us more headaches,on the same token i want her to have good traction climbing rocky hilly terrian, and the ability to get through a muddy spotetc.
The other issue is 3 of us are riding independant suspensions,in our sportsmans, where as the magnum isnt. She does a pretty decent job staying with usin the rough stuff, with the stock tires[titans?]Im afraid if i get too stiff of a sidewall, the tire wont "give" and the ride will be harsh for her. Most of the tires are 6 ply some say 4 .Is that the face of the tire, the sidewall or both?
The KENDA EXECUTIONER is one i like the looks of ,i also keep looking at ITPS [because they are usa made]With the ITPS they dont have solid lugs, and im betting mud gets in the holes and fills them up,only to fly everywhere at resumed speeds?
Nothing wrong with my rims, but for the price, the steel ones are appealing.Ihate the aluminum ones on two of my sportsmans havent held air good since new,so plain old steel is good for me.Imention rims because i dont want issues with clearance or tires sticking out beyond the fenders,[Getting really muddy isnt cool for a teenage girl]because i have to buy wideners]
One more thing, the MAGNUMS have a size smaller than the sportsmans 24s i believe [without running out to the shed] Isure hope i have not too much issue stepping into a 25.The quad is only a 325 .She is not large enough to move to a sportsman yet,and this atv has been in the family so long we will always keep it.
Ok guys ,sorry for being long winded, but i wanted you to have all the important info.Price isnt an issue so:WHAT DO I BUY??

Default Tires

Are you planning to buy new rims too? If the rims you have arent too beat up, I would just stay with them. Tires...I have ITP mudlites...I just took off the ATs and put on XLs...they are more of a mud tires, but work for all around riding as well. I can tell you that my brother had the executioners...they were great in mud, but in anything with a hard pack they just spun...especially on tree roots. It seems that tires are a hot topic on here and I am sure that lots of people will chime in on the subject.

I service several machines for ranchers here in wyoming, I have been buying Kenda bearclaws for their machines, good all around tire at a great price, they seem to last along time, if they would make them in 14 inch I would buy a set for my 850,

My rims are good ,but for the price im seeing for basic steel ones might not matter to use mine ,at least ill always have a spare mounted.Might keep the worn out ones and put them on for lawn work wont tear up so much. The ITPS were not mud chuckers? Did you find where they were a hollow lug ,they would rip,or wear out quicker?

Inoticed the KENDAS were cheaper.Ill have to check out the bearclaws,When mudslinger said the executioners would slip on tree roots that turned me off.[we have mostly wooded trails here in MAINE]

Sorry to hear you had issues with the hubs. My 02 magnum gave me 8 years of service flawlessly, and I rode it hard in nearly every type of terrain. When the tires were shot I put 25" itp mudlites on it and was very happy with them. I did notice a slight drop in power with the more aggressive+taller tires but was remedied by simply changing the primary spring. (via Rick Ritter's suggestion) Ended up getting more snap out of it than stock with little/no loss in top speed. The bear claws are also a great tire. My brother has had a set for about a year now and they seem to provide good overall traction without tearing up the terrain, wear pretty good, Ride is decent. If I was looking for a general purpose tire it would probably be bear claw.

ITP Mudlites would be my choice. I had Kenda Bearclaws and I was not impressed. The mudLite is much better on rocks, sand and slippery roots - a better all around tire.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Weedy may know better since it sounds like he's had both, where I've had the mudlites and only seen what the bear claws will do on my brothers machine. One thing to note is the mudlites AT will be 3 lb lighter each in a 25" tire (same tread depth of bearclaw) or the mudlite XL 25" will be a half pound heavier each but you'll have 1" of tread.

My mudlite ats lasted almost 1900 miles...I don't think that is too bad...actually the fronts would have went more but when I was buying I just bought the whole set. I got the xls on rmatv for 370 then got a 50 dollar credit back on my account...got all four tires stock 25s for 320 bucks. I don't really think that they throw anymore mud than any other tire as far as once you get out of the hole!! Obviously...if she doesnt ride in mud on any consistency I would go with mudlite ATs...check out Iron Pony Westerville Ohio...tire prices are pretty good on the ATs...cheapest I found.

I put the stock PXT's from my rzr on my daughter's 300sp and they have worked great. They can be found cheap on ebay/craigslist and usually like new with rims since most folks upgrade right away.
