Default Kodiak 4x4 Servo Motor

My initial problem was the 4x4 servo would make noise when the 4x4 would engage and then immediately make a similar electronic noise and kick it right back out as soon as I let off the 4x4 button.

I think I have seen similar issues online and I know that Yamaha (kodiak and grizzly I think) have servo and servo motor issues. But my question is about installing a new servo motor. Is there any specific way that the gears on the motor need to be lined up when I put the new one on. I ask because I already put it on and it seems to be making some metal on metal noises that cant be good. I need to get my quad back together so I can ride the river before it thaws out. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys

Randall

Had an 04 Kodiak 400 that had the same problem. I tore the button apart on the handle bar and cleaned it thoroughly. That fixed the problem. I had gotten dirt in the button that wouldn't allow it to stay locked in. Might be something to check before spending the money.

Default Servo?

Please excuse my ignorance, but is there another name for the servo? I have called 2 parts suppliers and they haven't heard of it. I have someone wanting this particular part off my 2000 Kodiak, but I am unwilling to part it out so was trying to find the part for them. Can any of you shed some light on this so I can properly direct my inquiry?

Thanks
