2008 polaris ranger
#1
I have a 2008 polaris ranger 700 I am using it to check and calve out cows so I need it pretty bad right now. Today I could smell antifreeze and I looked under the hood an the radiator cap had antifreeze around it so I shut it off and let it get cool and when I chocked the coolant it was low but the over flow was full also I am thinking the radiator cap might be bad but I would love to hear any other suggestions or if anyone thinks I am right. sure appreciate it if you can help

Is fan coming on? If fan is operating you might try running without radiator cap until fan kicks back on, air bubbles will be dispelled, then replace cap, could have an air pocket. If you added coolant without bleeding air, could be the problem, had a lot like this since coolant lines are so long. Also can bleed 8mm bolt at thermostat housing while machine is running, turn out couple turns until no air bubbles seen? Caps can go bad,but try this first. Don't know if this helps OPT

Where you at?.....Cold?
You may have had a freeze up in the rad and the coolant has not where to cycle or flow?.....Just a thing to check from a Cold Weather Canadian Rider ....LOL.......Caper.........

Air in the line can do this! Just take off the cap,run engine until fan comes on,coolant level in radiator will drop, then top off coolant and replace cap. If still leaks around cap and reserve tank overflows, then I would replace cap.
