2 stroke, easy to work on (especially if you're already a mechanic type). Being a 2 stroke it has Huge Power in the sweet spot, Light weight, Nimble, "Man-Handle-able".... Very modifiable. Other Yamaha parts can be used on some areas of them to do upgrades.
I installed YFZ450 hubs on the Blaster Axle and I run YFZ rims and tires I bought off ebay (cheap) and love the way it handles, just from that simple mod. The 9 inch rims give you more options on tires too.
I installed a used FMF Fatty (ebay) and silencer (ebay) and added some arm ripping power the machine didn't know it had.... On the 02 it has drum front brakes. You can turn the front rims inside out and increase the width a little for no charge.... another handling extra huh?
I'm a cheap ***, and spend very little actually, and get a lot of fun from my Blaster.
Check with the seller and see if the Oil injection system is still intact or not also... It works well either way. Just a very important thing to know.
According to what the price is, the blaster can be VERY worth the money. Just don't pay much more than a grand for it (if it's perfect and never been dinged or modified, it's price will max out around 1200-1300... and that means PERFECT) Mods can run the price up, but you really need to know what the mods are and have a lot more knowledge to do well with anything other than safety equipment, bumpers, tires, nerf bars, etc...

I'd caution you to sit on it and feel it out first. They are very, small. I was looking for an entry quad to ride with buddies. I got rid of that thing as fast as I could. Way to small and underpowered for bigger people.
