has ANY ds650 owner on here blown the valve cover gasket?

Never had it happen to any of my bikes.
Have you had the cover off recently?
I would check all the vent hoses and make sure none of them are clogged.
Could just be old, over torqued, or if you used a pressure washer may have damaged it and it needed to be replaced.
A valve/seal may be leaking causing over pressure under the valve cover.
Do you have one of those E-Vac valve deals on it, in the crankcase breather hose?
Honda motorcycles had problems with blowing valve cover gaskets and it came down to stator was shorting out, which caused the spark plugs to ignite when they weren't supposed to sending pressure past the valves and into the valve cover area.

funny you ask, my valve cover gasket blew on my ds650 twice, the whole damn gasket shot out the side, i was riding one day it shot oil all over my leg. i put it back on and it did it again. i throught it was from a pressure build up, i never figured out what caused the problem but i did manage to fix it, and it never happened again. what you need to do is take your gasket cover off and clean the gasket and cover and any other part that touch the gasket with rubbing alcohol, reenstall the gasket then reroute your crank case breather hose and add a filter to the crank case breather hose, you know one of those small filters looks like a mini k&n filter, make sure your crank case breather hose is not clogged before you put the filter on and that should do it, it worked for me.
