Default Better tires for Tao 110

Hello, As with others, I am new to the Chinese quads market. Got a really good deal on a new 110 TAO for wheeler from my neighbor. He had won it at a banquet but had no use for it. Runs pretty well (if I can ever remember to pull the brake to start it). Tires are new but are really poor for traction or clearance. He wants to ride with us on some very mild trails at our hunting farm but with these tires I can see nothing but a frustrated 6 year old. Has anyone found any decent tires for these quads. I know I am expecting alot but thought I would ask. My Arctic cat 650 TRV rode really poorly until I changed the tires now I LOVE it. Hoping to do the same for his. Any other tips anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Robb

Take a look at these. They look pretty good. They are 16x7x8.

you can go up in tire size but you will hafta re gear it if you want to maintain any torque. an 18" tall tire will only need a 1 tooth drop in the front sprocket. a 22" tire...front and rear gears...which will get into the skid plate at the rear...i know this cuz i went from a 30 (?) tooth rear to a 50(+/-) tooth sprocket...much bigger and had to relocate the rear skid pl down...so it werked out that the quad with 18" tires has the same rear skid plate clearance as the one with the 22"s...but being 7" rims is the real issue that makes it tough to find a tire...for the 22's i had to go to 8" rims.

The tires on it now are 145-6 or something like that. Is that just a different type of measurement system? He just doesn't want to get stuck every time he hits a small rut or a chunk of ice. I thought maybe an inch or two would be perfect. The skid plate of course being the deciding factor. I guess I can re gear the front sproket if need be. Anyone know what is on a ATV 110L? Mine is an 2008 model if that matters.

These small 110cc ATVs only have about 3.5 inches of ground clearance with stock tires. I really haven't seen a tire for these ATVs that has an aggressive tire pattern. Probably going to have to get larger tires/rims and change sprockets to really make a difference.
