Default 2002 DS650 Baja transmission troubles

I bought this quad over the summer and I have loved riding it. when I test rode it it was ok but after a few rides it started slipping out of second gear at about 5000 rpms. I was planning on fixing it this winter but havent got to it yet. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong with 2nd gear?

Do a search on "shift fork". Unfortunately it involves splitting the cases to repair

alright. thank you. it looks like I'll have fun this week finally fixing the problem. do you think that could be the only problem or may there possibly be others? i was also told maybe the syncronizer or possibly the gear itself.
