Smile Just switched from Honda to Polaris

After 8 yrs. riding a Honda Rincon 650 I went to the dealers to check out the new model Hondas.I don't think Honda has changed thier machines hardly at all.Was very impressed with Polaris' line up and wound up buying an 850 XP EPS.Any advice on the new ride.Power steering is unbelievable,so easy and smooth.Hope the 850 powerplant is a good one.Thanx in advance!

Congrads you'll love the XP that 850 engine is a rocket ship. I still can't believe how hard it pulls every time i ride it.

Honda is bullet proof but the reason is they never try anything new never push new tech. They are WAY behind the XP Sportsmans and the CannAM's.

When I changed from a 450 Foreman to a 500 Sportsman the 3 big differences was the power increase, I blast up hills that I once had to down shift for, the traction of true AWD and ride comfort over with IRS over SRA, but the Rincon had IRS so you may to notice that as much.

The low range for slow technical creeping is fun as well. My Foreman had a super low 1st gear but still not the same as having a dedicated low range sub tranny.

Congrats - just the ride quality alone with the PoPo suspension and seat cushion outta make you happy! And my favorite part is the 30 mph low range and throttle control - all TORK. I hunt and fish alot and this increased low range is sweet, and I can ride a wheelie on demand across the yard on a 800# machine ;-)

Follow the breakin procedures. Be careful. That is a VERY powerful machine.

wHAT HE SAID, plus make sure to keep up on your maintenance. Yes the old honda's were reliable and you could just throw some oil in it and leave it in the corner to forget about with very few issues. But now you have a high $$$$ machine that is way more sophisticated than what your used to. Treat it as so and it'll be good to you.

Hope you can get 8 years out of that XP lets just shoot for a 4 =) Hopefully it works out for you.. don't treat it like your Honda or you'll be in rough shape.

That xp will last you a good long time if you take care of her- You'll notice a nice power bump going from the 650 thumper to the xp's twin 850.

I've been seriously considering buying a 2009 xp850 for awhile myself- I'm thinking I'll miss that raw rotax power tho ... I even listed my renegade on ebay to see how high it gets to my reserve- if i can get around $7300- $7500 for it, I'll grab an 09 leftover xp850- I got 5 days to decide
