Default Tires Tires Tires

I know this always comes up but it seems almost impossible to decide on which tires to buy. I have gone back and forth with many different choices for over a year, and I still haven't decided. Based on my ATV use and price point, I have narrowed it down to the following:

Dirt Devill II
Zillas
Swamplites.

I have a 2003 600 twin that has the original Goodyear Rawhides.(25") I live in MN and most of my riding is slow speed hard pack trails when hunting. There are a few occasional nasty mudholes and I also use it in the winter for ice fishing. I am going to move up a size and get a 26" tire. I know the Swamps run big and the Zillas run small but what are any reviews anyone can give me for real world impressions. My priority for the tires as as follows:

1. Smooth ride at slow to moderate trail speeds. 90% of riding is on hardpack trails.
2. Mud performance
3. Durability- I am usually many miles in the woods by myself. Flats would be bad.
4. Snow performance.

No, I don't want to spend a lot of $ so XTR's and Terracross are not on the list. The Dirt Devils can be bought for $290 for 4 so they are a great deal. I may get rims too but I am undecided.

Thanks and I hope someone can help.......

I just got done replacing my rawhides a few minutes ago on my 04 Sportsman 500. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money with my type of use. I found a set of Carlisle AT489 on e-bay at a great price on wheels and they were the stock size (25") I ran it in the woods behind me and they are great for the 3 miles I just put on.

Swamp Lite will be the smoothest of the three. That would be my choice if the MudLite was not a canidate.

MudLite is worth looking at as a option.

I can get the rims I want with tires for the following prices:
Dirt Devil II $515
Swamplites $579
Zillas $586

I really like the look of the DD II's and for the price I am leaning that way. They told me rubber is going up in price so I need to pull the trigger soon...Anyone have the Dirt Devil II???

I don't have the DD II tires, but I do run the Spartacus tires from GBC. They have been rock solid in terms of durability and ride quality. I would not hesitate recommending a GBC product. I personally like the looks of the DD II, and will probably go with a set of those if the tires I have now ever wear out.

I'm running the Spartacus also. Don't have a lot of miles on them yet but my initial impression is that they're really good in the snow, quite good in the mud and good on hardpack. They're also really rugged so far. They're 8 ply so they should be. I haven't put but a few pavement miles on so I'm not sure how they do on the pavement at 45+.

They're not as aggressive as a dedicated extreme mud tire but I need something that does well in the mud but is still usable on the trail and on pavement.
