Sportsman 800 using oil and fuel guage stuck on 1/4 full...

Question Sportsman 800 using oil and fuel guage stuck on 1/4 full...

OPT.. We have a 2008 Sportsman 800 which has used oil from the start and just recenty the fuel gauge stays on 1/4 full..Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks..

Seems to me the 700 and 800 did use oil compared to the other machines,especially the Razr.(mainly because it was usually treated rougher,early air box problems allowed too much dirt into throttle body and engine wearing down rings,causing excessive oil burning We did several top ends on some fairly new Razrs) . Even if the atvs and razrs were not treated harshly,they still used oil. Most of the twins that came in for service were always lower on oil than say the 500 engines.Just the nature of this particular engine I guess.
As far as the fuel gauge a member recently posted about removing pump and adjusting float arm that was touching side of tank and showing false reading,you might check on his post. OPT

guess i was luck as neither of my 2 800's used any oil and i didn't baby it.
