Default 2001 Scrambler 400 2wd? Good deal? Opinions please.

Hey guys, I am looking at a 2001 Polaris Scramber 400 2wd. It is in good shape and runs good. I can pick it up for $900. Is this good? Anything to look for? Whats it worth? I dont know anything about these quads. Need an automatic for the wife!

well I think I paid $1000 for my 1995 xplorer 400. And it was in peices. with a broken crankcase. I had another with a trashed frame.
It may need a little work, for another $1000 dollars parts and some elbow grease.
You would have a pretty fast 2000 dollar machine.
Don't just ride it though. tear it down make it right

I wouldn't sell my 1996 400L for $900 and it is NOT in good shape. Bikes like that are going for 1500 to 2000 here in mid-Michigan.
