Default ds 650 spark issue figured out. bigger problems now

I posted a thread a few months ago about a ds650 electrical issue with no or weak spark. I got a manual and started testing everything in order. The trigger coil had the correct ohms but not up to snuff on VAC. So I removed the side case with magneto and the trigger coil had build up of metal shavings around it. I cleaned it up and put everything back together and checked the spark and it was great. It fired right up and ran strong but i could hear metal to metal sound so I took the side case and magneto back off. Then I turned the kill switch off and bumped the start button a few times. there is two gears between the starter shaft and the crank gear. None of the gears look shiny but i did see a spark while i was rolling the motor over. Not sure how to fix this problem. Has anyone ever heard of this problem on this bike. Thanks for taking time to read this thread

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking seriously about changing it anyway because of the scarring on the guide piece. Does anyone know the best place to buy OEM parts for this bike?
