Default 2012 Polaris Renegade competitor

You guys think we'll finally see a real Renegade competitor from Polaris for 2012? It seems like that's the only thing missing from Polaris' lineup. The Scrambler doesn't count, it's obsolete.

It's fun to imagine that they'll make something like the IRS Outlaw with 4wd and the 850 or just the Scrambler with the 850, but it'll probably be something like BNG all over again. Bold New Graphics!!!

I wonder if someone in their advertising department realizes that BNG is getting old. How about Same Old Graphics, new plastic????

if they were going to compete they would need a whole new platform as the sportsman is way too heavy and underpowered. imo

I think it's more bulky then under-powered, that 850 puts out some good power- pulls the front end up in H no problem at all- almost as easy as the rene does. The renegade really is in a class of its own- I would not even consider the wolvy & scrambler in the same class.

Even if they went the 550 route with the current chassis I don't see it competing with the Renegade. Maybe if they gave the Outlaw (KTM) 525 4wd.

If Polaris took the Outlaw IRS chassis and adapted it to contain the XP 550 and 850 powertrain, including AWD, along with EPS, that would be ideal. They don't need any of the reinforcement for racks, use minimised sporty plastic. Maybe leave a small area behind the rider for storage. That should help keep the weight down.

Something similar to the outlaw chassis, with the KTM 690, AWD and a cvt would be sweet.

or just toss one of the 800cc sled motors in the scrambler and put the front end out of the razr and the rear suspension of the outlaw irs in and you're good to go. Or if your impatient like me, you can just toss a 150hp 700 triple sled engine into the scrambler and have fun right away . . . .
