I purchased a project 95 Kodiak 4x4 that has no spark. I removed the side case to get access to the stator and had at least a qt of oil dumped out when I separated the cover from the case. I was expecting that side to be dry, but I am inexperienced with Yamaha ATV engine design. Electrics and oil did not seem right, but I do see the cam chain, which I assume needs lube. Because I bought this as a non running quad, I need some experienced guidance on what is normal vs not. My original intent was to get the stator and other coils on a bench and ohm them out to check for any obvious issues. The Coil at the spark plug end ohmd out to spec, so it should be good. Any input from this forum is appreciated, Thx
