Default 2011 Gio 49cc ATV

I just bought a 2011 GIO ATV with the twist throttle, but it doesnt have a speed limiter on it. I am wondering if anyone can help figure out how I can limit the speed on this twist throttle bike as my son is just learning how to ride it and i want it to go slow at first. Also as another option i am wondering if the thumb throttle from a gio 110cc ATV will fit onto the 49cc ATV's; as the 110cc has a speed limiter?

my apologies not knowing your quad down to every detail. generally, on the throttle cable near the handlebar, there is a cable adjustment. looks like a turnbuckle with extra stop nuts. usually undersome "extra" rubber on the handlebar just a few inches from the throttle. OR, maybe on the carburetor itself. if the carb is a slide, then the cable adjustment is the way to go. if the carb is a butterfly, i believe there'd be a screw that would limit the rotation of the throttle assembly. i'm pretty sure you don't have a butterfly carb. so, see the pic below on the right side and see the adjustment. fairly self explanatory.

some thumb throttle assemblies have a screw that limits how far you can push the thumb throttle also. may check that out too!
