2004 700 EFI dying out when fan kicks on
#1
Guys...been a while. Alot going on in life...so havent been riding much and in turn not breaking as much. So i got the ATV out last weekend and was pulling my 60" pull behind mower and the atv just started loosing RMPS and eventually shut off. A few things that i noticed:
The fuel guage really dropped (3 bars very quickly)
The fan had just turned on
The rpms slowly dropped and would not climb under throttle
Once dead it would fire but then die back out (fan still running)
Let set for 20-30 minutes and it would fire right back up
Fuel is fresh and new
It was only 70 degrees and i was only at it for about 15 minutes..Any ideas?

12.2 running??? You should be getting 13- 14.4 volts at an idle. If your numbers are correct, it sounds to me like the stator or voltage regulator isn't working and when the fan kicks on it pulls to much juice and the battery can't keep everything running.

if that is what you are getting and the fan kicks on it's robbing alll th power and doesn't have enough to keep the bike running.
