95 xplorer 400 no spark

95 xplorer 400 no spark
my nephew replaced the water pump and the only wires he unplugged were the 2 yellow wires that come from the stator the wires plug up somewhere on that panel with all the other wires are he also replaced the stator you can hook a light tester to either one of yellow wires and it will light the tester so it must be workin if anyone knows were those wires go i would appreciate the info thanks

The yellow wires coming from the stator go into the regulator/rectifier(mounted at the front bumper guard). Also should have a yellow with a red stripe that ties into the cdi area. OPT
