Default picked up a mint lt80

i had my 1987 lt80 for about 5-6 years now, rebuilt, and done correctly thanks to the help of jack, and this forum.

since i have two sons i needed another for my other son instead of them taking turns riding so i picked up a bone stock mint condition 2000 lt80 for $450 !!!!!

now i found another one for $250 that i think i'm gonna pick up this week, its starting to become an addiction, so jack be prepared, no retiring anytime soon, you are going to be getting three engines to work your magic on in the next year, hopefully sooner!

hey jack, is it safe to run without the head gasket for a ride or two? i'm giving it to my son for his bday on saturday so i don't want to chance not having the head back from the machine shop in time

last night i cleaned the clutches, and carb and got it running nice, then, i went to pull the headgasket out, and surprise, it wasn't there lol, so then i went to take the restricter plate out of the exhaust, and yet again, already gone.

so now my question is, just for piece of mind, i was thinking of putting rings in it, is it ok to just put rings on the old piston? its not scarred what so ever, it actually looks good except some carbon on the top, and its definitely stock size, the only marking on it is the arrow

You can just re-ring it w/o problems.
