Default YFZ 450 + Tree Stump = Ouch!

Went out the past weekend down in Lexington OK to the Canadian River. Tons of nice beach to ride and lots of trails spiderweb throughout. Nice day until I come around the corner and hit a tree stump about 4" around and 10" high. I never seen the thing. Ripped completely through bottom a-arm launching a 6" piece of it about 3'. Snapped shock in half. Bent and speerated the top a-arm. Only thing holding wheel on was the tie-rod and the break line. It threw me but I was fine. Scratched and bruised my nipple...but, fine. Folded wheel up on nerf and rode to truck.

I picked up set of a-arms for $65 bucks and a set of Elka stage 1 for $409. I was going to replace the shocks with stock but, decided to go with new shocks vs used. Was it a good choice??

owwwww damn!

you cought that one good!

Almost looks like an old fence post

I hit a stump on my sp 800 a while back and it pushed the skid right into the cv and ruined it- wasn't as bad as your hit tho-

nothing's worse than flying down a trail and all of a sudden you're on the ground wondering WTF just happened!!!

Good to hear you weren't seriously hurt. Purple nurples still hurt though.

Sounds like a good choice, as long as you stay to the left a bit on that trail next time.

Exactly. I thought the front end fell out from underneath me. I had no clue what was going on.

If someone had a camera it would have been great. I ejected so quickly my hands never came up. My 6'2" 250lbs body was flying though the air with my hands to my side as if i was imitating a dolphin.

A camera would also solve the riddle of...as Scooter put it the purple nurple. HA HA! Which by the way is purple with nice big ol' red scrape on top.
