I don't know about a stock Banshee, I kept up with a modded Banshee for about the first 50 feet or so at Sand MT. in Nevada. I'll know how it does against a stock one at the end of the month, we're going to Winchester Bay, OR. The Raptor did really well. I do, however, suggest that you get the V shaped paddles for turning. I bought the strait ones and they wouldn't allow it to turn very well. This time I have a wider axle and it should be better. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I get back.

I ride at Dumont and Glamis exclusively. The stock Raptor does pretty well. It will beat a stock Banshee up Competition Hill at Dumont. It will out perform a stock Banshee in the dunes with equal riders. Modify a stock Banshee and it's a different story. Stock, the Raptor is a little narrow for razorbacks, side hilling, etc. A wider axle fixes it and makes it a whole new quad. I have a Lonestar 2 + 2 axle, Douglas 1" offset front wheels, Dyno Jet kit, Stock pipe with baffle out, and Pro Design filter. It performs really well now. I'm very happy with it. P.S. - I don't race or jump, I just like to ride at my own pace and have fun.

I got a 12 tooth sprocket and like it better than the stock 13 tooth. I have Sand Skat II's and they hook up great for hill climbs (deep paddels) They grip and then break loose during a slide. I like my Dune Tracker fronts! Got them both from rockymountainatv.com

Right out of the box, my raptor beat stock banshees with pipes (equal weight riders)I raced alot of them,I believe I was the first one to have a raptor at the dunes. I opted for 22x11x10 8 paddle haulers, because with a four stroke you do not need to spin to make power. This made other problems,WHEELIES a +4 lonestar swingarm solved that.I dropped the front sprocket to 12 and bought offset wheels. Since then I have gone to 10 paddle haulers, and I give my friends quadzilla a run for his money at the drags.

GOTTA LOVE PAYSON!!!!!!!!!

my buddys and i jus recently got back from a trip to glamis. i brought my raptor, and its stock except for the pro design intake kit and it did friggin great out there, but a 12tooth sprocket would have really cleaned up all the extra clutch work that was required!!..but by all means it performed like a champ...and i was runnin 8 paddle skat trak haulers...

99 banshee
01 raptor

hammer down in nj!!!

Sorry to get back to you so late. Went to GLAMIS!! and had a great time!! If you were at the drags on Saturday between 4:00 and 6:00 you would have seen my friend Trevors wife Jennifer kick everyoes a$$ on his LT500! The only guy that could beat her was some guy on a super, super, super built purple Banshee. Anyway, my Raptor ran well (stock filter, dyno-jet, e-series) for general duning but I saw a guy with the Graydon dual filter mount and no airbox lid with an outerwear skin over the box. I can't remember which pipe he had but he sure beat me up Oldsmobile! To answer the question about tires, I have the V shape Sand Skate II's on 10" rims and they hook up well for hills but don't slide as easy as GBH Sand Sharks and similar V paddles that my friends have. But I get the wheelies going!! Also, I tried 144 & 146 dyno-jets with 2 and then 4 additional discs on my e-series and it was too rich with the airbox lid on and a stock filter. I didn't want to run without the lid so I went back to the 142 & 144 setup that works fine.(tired of wasting riding time and f'ing around) I am wating for the K&N and then I will start messing with it again!!

They do fine. Banshees only can really out pull them in an all out dragrace up very steep dunes. It's not the fastest, though close, in the dunes. It has great suspenders and jumps great! You can ride in thrid and fouth gear all day if you wanted to, try that on a banshee.
