Default 700xx vs Renegade? Getting another new/used quad

So I've rode a Honda Recon 250 for a good 6 years. Thing was and still is a beast. Goes everything, have had almost NO problems with it, and rode the living heck out of it. I got a Renegade 800 back in March of this year. Thing is a downright monster. However, I've been having quite a bit of problems with it and it's beginning to really irritate me. For every hour I spend riding it, it seems like I'm in the garage equal time repairing it. I LOVE the Renegade, but just waiting for something to break every time I go out to ride it is getting on my last nerve.

So I'm thinking about selling my Renegade 800 and getting another new/used quad. I REALLY love the reliability and experience I've had with the Honda Recon.. So I've been looking into considering getting the Honda 700xx, seems like a pretty nice quad and fits all my purposes that I ride for. The 700xx doesn't have 4x4 obviously, but I guess I could live with that. Also love the new 2012 Renegade 1000, although I'm a little against it seeing as I didn't have too good of luck the the Can Am I already have, and the price tag on them puppies isn't exactly cheap.

I am familiar with all the ATV's available. So I know what I have to look for. I guess I'm just wondering a few things...

1. Has anybody else had as bad luck with reliability with a Can Am as I have?
2. Does anyone know anything or have any feedback on the 700xx?
3. Thoughts on what I should choose and do?

Overall I suppose the only main thing the 700xx wouldn't have vs the Renegade is 4x4. But as a substitute it has less weight, which is a fair trade off. Also, I am in love with the power of the Renegade, so I'm REALLY hoping the 700xx packs a fairly equal punch? Is the 700xx pretty wicked in terms of power?

Thanks guys!

My son's Renegade has about 1000 trouble free miles.

Haven't run into anyone with a 700xx or ridden one myself so don't know much more than what I've read. If you don't need 4wd see if someone will let you test ride the 700xx. Might be a good alternative.

I've owned three Bombardier DS 650s and four Can Am ATVs, and no problems with any of them. I have 1300 miles on my Outlander, and my wife has 1200 miles on her Renegade.

I think the 700xx would be a neat quad to own though, so if you get one, let us know how it turns out. From what I've heard about the 700xx: It has a bad tendancy to push in turns, so handling takes some getting used to. It will also be about 20 hp short of what the Renegade 800 brings to the table.

I actually thought Honda quit making the 700xx. The last time I was on their web page they didn't have any listed for the current model year. Maybe they just didn't make them for that model year because they had so many left over from the previous year.
