Default DS 650 or DS 450

I've been doing some research and am torn between the 650 and 450. I mostly do trail riding in sugar sand and dirt. I'm stumped if you guys could please help. Oh and I am a moderate rider I would say, I have been riding 4x4's mostly but used to have a 400ex and loved it then money got tight sold it and now i have money again and want a better bike than the 400ex. Thank you in advance.

You didnt say if you are a taller guy or not, if you are average size, the 450 would rule in trail riding, being more of a MX style quad, the 650 is more of a big duner, it likes wide open spaces so you can open it up. I'm not saying it wont be a good trail rider, its just the 450 would run circles around it handling wise. Sit on both, and see which one fits you better, if you can get a test ride, even better !!

For your size you would probably prefer the 450. Especially for trail riding. The 650 is great out in the open and logging roads. For trails it's a bit too wide and hard to maneuver. Honestly, 500 lbs with no reverse can be quite cumbersome. I have been stuck on my property and moving that bitch by hand is ridiculous.

I just got the DS 450 a couple weeks ago, I'm 6ft tall and its really comfortable. I can lift the rear end and pull it around with almost no effort at all; the suspension and handling are perfect for the trails. I was torn between the DS 650 and 450 too, but got the 450 because its lighter, better for trails, and I found a good deal on one; the DS 650 was just too heavy for not having reverse. Although I do love the DS 650 more than any other quad, besides the DS 450 of course.
