Default Sport ATV suspension on utility Can-am

Hi All,

I am looking for better front suspension on my 2004 Quest max 650. The stock front suspension is 14 inch eye to eye, so outlander suspension which is 19 inch will not fit.

It's kinda old so I am having hard time finding affordable after market replacements. Having it custom built is too much.
After much digging I've found that front suspension from Yamaha Raptor 700 sport ATV can be fitted and they look quite capable.

The question is, will they cope with the weight of the Quest? Any other options?

Thanks,

Thats odd because the 650 Quest has only 1/2 inch less front travel then a 650 Outlander. 7.5" vs 8". http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...803&go=Gowhile the 700 Raptor has much taller 9.1" of front suspension travel.

Is your front suspention just to soft? Can you just change to a stiffer spring or put in spring spacer like these Coil Spring Spacer from Polaris ATV Accessories & Apparel 2006

I know these are for a Polaris but you can also make the youself. Like this guy. $3 spring spacers - Polaris ATV Forum

Thanks, I don't know why it's like that but the outlander is 19" and the quest is 14".

Right now both of my front suspension require replacement. I just bought this old thing so I don't know how well it handles with new suspension. But when I put some wight on the front and then let go it does not return slowly back (like the back suspension), it bounces like there is no damping! This makes it very hard to control when driving fast.

So in short, I thought that I should replace the front with something more sophisticated...
