have 2006 hawkeye 400. hard to start and when it does start will die if i let off the gas. anyone have any ides pls

 

Welcome to the forum! UNLESS you changed engines out,should be a Hawkeye 300 Try adjusting slack at throttle housing to where you have about 1/16-1/8" slack in the thumb throttle. Possibly the internal etc contacts are touching causing it to die from too much slack. OPT

 

welcome. has the bike sitting for awhile? wondering if maybe the carb on the 300 hawkeye is dirty and needs cleaning. ty the throttle adjustment first and move on form thier.
