I have to get a battery for a 93 Kawasaki Bayou 220. When I checked at dealers they ask me if it’s a Bayou 220 or a Bayou (CN). The two are not the same. One required more amps then the other. What does the (CN) stand for? What is the difference between a bayou 220 and a bayou 220 (CN)? The dealer didn’t know either. They started making the CN in 92? What happens if I put a 12 high amp battery in Atv that only requires 8amps? Will that ruin anything? Any help would be great!!!!

I think I have specs up to 92 at the shop. I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow at work. Another clue would be to check part #s on the V-regulator and stater on both modles. If the #s are the same, most likley it's somthing with physical size, or CCA of the battery. The folks at the dealer could have called Kawi for you, or tec support from their supplier. A replacment battery shouldn't be a hassel.

According to my aftermarket parts books and www.buykawasaki.com, your quad takes a YB10A-A2 battery, which is used on all of the Bayou 220's from '88-'00. The YB10A-A2 is a 11 amp/hour battery.

Do you know what the (CN) stands for or means? The dealer ask me and several searches for batteries have asked me that also?

Never run into a (CN) model around here, so I would not have any idea of what it stands for.

You can go to www.buykawasaki.com, view parts diagrams, and put your VIN instead of by year and model to see what your quad should have for a battery.
