The Suzuki.
The 4 strokes are very underpowered.
The LT50 is very dependable
If your looking to race or anything, neither is a good choice.

Because there are much better 50cc machines out there for racing and long trails and such. Apex and DRR machines are the hot item these days.
They can have dual a-arms thus a much better suspension.

My kid ran the tires off a old LT50. That thing would putt him around the yard all day long.

Both are fine machines.
There are loads of aftermarket parts for the eton. Which may help when the 50 gets boring.

So how does the eton compare to the Suzuki? I was really leaning towards the Suzuki just because I really no nothing about the eton's haven't really ever heard of them till recently

Etons are one of the many high quality Tiawaneese machines. They have been around for years.
The Zuki is a great machine but little to no aftermarket goodies (that is worth while anyways). So if you think that you will never ever want more power out of a machine,,,the Zuki.
Other than that, the Eton.
If it was me, and the machines were comparable in condition and price,I'd get the Eton.

Welcome to the forums.
If the pred is the 4 stroke model, you won't have to worry about fast...<EG>
The LT50's as you know are dependable.
I'd say that it's what fits him better.
