Seem to be having trouble locating a Carb Rebuild kit for a 2001 Sportsman 500HO. I see everything around it, but nothing specific to the 2001 500HO.

Any suggestions on where I might find a good quality rebuild kit for this application?

Not sure on after market complete kits on the Bst40 carb,whether they have em at K&L Supply,Parts Unlimited OR Tucker Rocky(three places to check) Or even if Moose makes em yet? But unless the needle or needle jet are worn all you really need is the needle valve assembly and float bowl gasket as you can reuse the main and pilot jets.
#3131359 needle valve is $29.69, #33130917 bowl gasket is $4.00 at Cycle Parts Warehouse. OPT
PS--- Dirt Cheap Atv parts has a Moose kit# 1003-0083 for the 2002 Sportsman 500 and Scrambler for $21. BST40 Carbs haven't change that much,if any! Just not sure if kit has the correct jet needle or jets,but check this place out! Still cheaper than OEM for a complete kit!
