Default No power 2006 Polaris Sawtooth

Can anybody help me. My daughter has a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth and after it gets hot about a half hr of riding is has no power. It will idle fine but has no power. If you turn it off for about 5 or 10 minutes it will run fine again far a little while and do it again??? Anybody have any idea. Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Make sure the fuel tank cap vent is open first. If this is ok then there are two fuel lines(main and reserve) that tie into a manual fuel assembly(just a plastic body) and have the main fuel line and fuel filter coming out of it to the carb. Just pull the fuel line off the carb and check the fuel flow in on and reserve position. Could be the fuel assy valve could be partially stopped up or the inline filter could be and may need changing. Anyway sounds like it could be starving for fuel/air when it gets warm(sort of vapor locking) and builds back up air charge after setting awhile. Plus trash, internal fuel line breakdown over the years can reduce fuel flow through the valve, filter and lines. May just need a good blowing out of the lines, replacing fuel filter, etc. Plus if ridden slow constantly, fuel can actually heat up in the tank which would restrict flow! Have seen this happen and wrapping insulated foil under the tank could help also. Hope this helps you track down the problem. OPT
