Default 2002 Artic Cat 500 Part Out or Should i keep it HELP!!

Hey Guys i just bought a 2002 artic cat 500 for $650 buks. Great deal but it didnt have an electric start so i went to fix the e start problem and found out that that the inner case was actually broken. One of the gears broke and the outter case broke as well. So now it will never have an electric start unless i replace the engine case. Should i part it out of sell it with the pull start only???How much could i get if i parted it out?

Those are dang near impossible to pull start. I have never been able to pull start an Arctic Cat ATV, a 2000 500, a 2004 400, or a 2005 650.

There must be some way to put it on, can you build a custom bracket or weld it on?

Part it out then, you will make your $650 back in a heartbeat, and then pay me 10% for great advice, then buy a newer ATV wtih the leftover $$$$

Catterman is right, part it out. By the time you sell the electronic parts and rims and wheels you should have you investment back plus whatever you get for the rest of the parts. Only seen this happen to two Cats and I believe they were both 2002 500's.

what part of the world are you in?

I have the same problem with no electric for exact same reason...I installed an old fashion pump primer and give it a squirt directly in the carb and then slowly pull the cord past the full compression point then give it a good one and it always starts first pull

I ask where becasue i may be interested in some parts if you're close

If it was me I would just keep it and pull start it. If thats all that wrond with it, seems like a waste af a perfectly good machine. I understand you guys are saying its hard to pull. I pulled my 500 for almost a month when the battery was shot. One smooth even pull and it was good to go. No harder to pull then my ZL 600, sounds odd.

well..

I just discovered my 2002 500 already has a primer built in lol...i have the carb off after dissassembling the top end (long story) anyways I was looking at the carb and decided to clean it since it was out anyways and when i moved a lever it sprayed a stream of fuel right in my face

turns out the keihin 36 used on the 500 model has a manual primer built into the bowl....when you're sitting on it reach down with your right hand just below the black throttle cable cover and there is a small lever with a round hole in the end....give that a few downward pumps ... then pull up your pants and give that pull cord all ya got and I bet it starts
