Default '11 500 HO starter noise

Is it just mine or do all The Polaris starters sound like they stick just slightly when started? The dealer acted as if it was no big deal. It has done this since brand new. Just wondering if it needs to be looked at or if it a common thing on The Polaris starter.

The 500 Sportsmans don't have the torque of the bigger engines to kick back the starter bendix at times and hangs up! On every new one we sold I started telling customers to start with their left hand and BLIP the throttle as soon as it started which will torque the bendix back in the case away from hanging up on the flywheel. Crappy I know, but prolongs the life of the bendix if you do this! OPT

All most all the 500s do it! Just blip the throttle when it first starts and less wear and tear on the bendix! Don't just try to start it like you do a car! OPT

When you just have your foot on the brake and turn the key and start! A lot of people start the 500 the same way:just have it in park or neutral and turn the key and then hear the grinding after it starts, but if you just get used to this procedure like I did after servicing up and working on so many of em,and just use your left hand to turn the key to start and blip the throttle when it does, the bendix won't hang up and grind against the flywheel!
