I have heard HPD is working on some Scrambler 500 stuff. Unfortionatly, all that I have heard is exactly that.

Anyone know what he has up his sleeve?

HPD has 500 HO stuff now. He has a pipe, muffler, clutch kit combo. I was there a few days ago, and there was a box of nickel chrome 500 pipes ready for orders. A few days ago there was a post from a guy who has the HPD stuff with a Dynojet kit. He said the performance gain was awsome!

 

Will these pipes, clutches, etc. fit on a 96 500 Sportsman?

 

I had heard that Darrel Olson ( HPD ) was working on either a head for the 500 or some kind of service ( milling, porting, valve job...ect ) but i don't know about the truth of that. Hopefuly something will be on the horizon. Perhaps a universal supercharger or turbo kit that fits on all polari.

 

Hmmm, not exactly what I was looking for. Or maybe I was hoping for more. Somthing like, pictures are here, or, the parts are in his new catalog. Oh well. It still sounds good. Are his roller-clutch's out yet?

I don't think it will work on the Sportsman, or at least not as well. The engines are similar, but the Scrambler is tuned different. Even when stock they use different exhaust. There are clutch kits out for the Sportsman though, as well as larger carbs which I hear make a huge difference. Aaen and Supertrapp both make pipes, and DG makes one too I think.

No roller clutch yet... It's tied up with lawyers... AAEN doesn't want competition for their roller clutch..

 

I've heard it ws a new headpipe and silencer setup, That combined with a couple of other modifications get the 500HO close to 50 hp.
