Hi my son is 14 he recently sold his ttr 125 and now want to go faster so he have been looking around and found an good deal on an 05 Honda TRX450R but he is scared when your able to hit the throttle and wheelie however he is 5'6 and weighs 135 would this be an good bike for him

 

Going from ttr125 to a 450r is like going from a pinto to corvette . It may be a good bike for him to grow into if he doesn't let his ***** out ride his ability. Also going from a bike to a quad is like being a atv beginner. If he is scared of the power than he is not ready for it. A 450r is very fast and has plenty of potential for stupidity . Whatever you choose be careful and respect the power of these machines

 

what about an 400ex

 

I believe the 400ex would be a great chose. It is more mild mannered , plenty of power, easier to matain, with lots of upgrades available .

 

i ended up with the 300ex which is over modded to beat an 400ex

 

If you come across a warrior at a good price he might look at it, that was my first quad I bought when I was 13, but he might want to get something faster after a few months of riding.

 

I had an 05 TRX450r, that is a FAST quad. As an adult it had way more power than I needed. I would not recommend it for a 14yr old
