I have heard that the stock throttle can be adjusted for more speed. How do you go about doing this?
Thank you for reading

Some 2000's never had the thrttole cable adjusted on them. Pull the boot back from the lock nut by the thumb lever. and see if it has some threads showing. Pull the boot off the back of the carb and see if the slide is coming all the way up when you move it. Adjust the cable until there is an 1/8th inch of slack in the thumb throttle.

How much more will you gain? Will it be enough that you will feel it? Just wondering.

When I bought mine new from the dealer, and six months later checked it after hearing about this problem, the carb was only opening about 80%. After properly adjusting it there was a significant gain in power/performance...in my opinion more than any bolt-on product such as a pipe or venting your airbox lid . If your carb isn't opening all the way, you'll definitely feel a difference when you set it correctly.
