Just bought a 1999 300EX but the emergency brake dosn't work. Rear braks work great but when I pull the parking break cable I see brake fluid comes out the left side where the parking break cable lever are goes into the caliper. Any suggestions. Does this mean I have to get a new rear caliper. I there some kind of adjustment?
Thanks, Jake

The parking brake is something that Honda never did get "right." The same basic set-up from back in the '80's and it didn't work then and it doesn't work now. Just don't use it. In fact, take the whole parking brake cable assembly off, put on an EZ pull clutch lever and a block off plate on the brake and pretend it never even had one.

i have a 2000 300ex and mine never worked well either...i just leave it however it is now. but i wanted to post about 2 things...don't transport your quad in your truck with it in gear to keep it from moving around...i used to do it all the time and was recently advised not to...(messes up the gears possibly)..also, mine doesn't leak any brake fluid like you said yours did...i would get block off kit like prev post suggested.

I don't think I ever even tried to use it. So I just took it off, I still need to look for a block off plate. Where can I find one and how much do they run? Thanks!

Just bought a new 2001 300ex, mine doesnt work either, my dealer told me that i have to adjus it after every ride. Don't use first gear as your parking brake either. Your tranny will not make it in the long run.

my 92 250x doesn't mind the 1st gear park brake...............just don't leave it in gear on the truck to hold it there......if you tie it on properly she won't go anywhere

the park brake on my 350x has been removed as well
