The warrior is a 87 and the quadsport is a 86. i can get both for 1200$ What should i get???

 

$1200 for either one is a lot of money. Unless that Warrior is in mint condition, I would stay away from it, and really I would stay away from ANY of the '87-'89 Warriors, and I'm not a fan of anything Suzuki.

 

$1200.00 would be on the high end for either one unless it was minty fresh. I am not sure why Raptor450 is against '87-89 Warriors. They were essentially unchanged from the initial offering other than some minor cosmetic changes(light placement.) Even the Raptor 350 is predominately a Warrior at heart with new plastic.

My preference would be towards the Warrior. They are more powerful/faster, have electric start, and have sold a ton more units. Parts are only going to get harder and harder to find for the Qsport, while much of the Warrior mechanicals are still being made by the oem and aftermarket.

 

Mainly the front a-arms are different than the '90-up Warriors, and every Warrior I've ever seen (or had) needed the front ball joints replaced. It's much easier to find used (or new) a-arms for the '90-up Warriors because they were unchanged even on the Raptor 350's. Plus the swingarm bearing carrier and chain adjustment design on the '87-89 was a poor design. But I imagine a "90-up swingram would bolt right up to the '87 chassis. Not to mention any other used parts (fenders, lights, etc) that would be easier to find that were basically unchanged all the way up to 2004 that will not bolt directly to the '87-89.

Not sure how the prices are in your area, but here in NC I see Raptor 350's for $1400 - 1800 all the time. Here's a good example: ***price reduced***2004 raptor 350 se. The Raptor 350 is the same as a Warrior with a few updates and Raptor-style plastics.

Warrior by far actually the 87 had replacable ball joints so that solves that issue

 

the engine was moved back in the frame in the early 90's too. unless you are a big guy id suggest looking at 300ex's too
