new owner with some questions

Hello All, I am new to this forum.
I just bought my son a Can-AM 2008 DS250, excellent condition, supposedly it was used probably less than 10 hours ( and it looks it, it was this guys girlfriends machine). I think I got a good or at least a fair deal...$1700.
I have not spent alot a time in the ATV world of things, I see that their are wheel spacers available. I was thinking this might be good for this machine for my son to put them on, I think it will make it more stable. I think reduce the chance of a roll over. Do you guys agree. If so, what is a good brand, what size to go with, will they do any harm to the machine. ( he will not be doing any heavy trail riding, or racing). Where to get them for a fair $$. Anything else I can do to make the machine more stable. ( I already set the throttle screw down, I would not have bought the machine if it did not have this, it was a little too big for him, nice option). Anything I should know about a 2008 DS250 ?
Thank You All

Welcome to the forums.
I had an 06 for my wife and that was one of the things I did not like about it. Too narrow. I would highly recommend the spacers, lots of kits out there. Ours was a very dependable quad, just not a lot of power. Might be a good thing for a beginner, but once the skills are required it could be an issue.
Unless they've changed the importers, you really have a SYM atv that has been re badged as Can Am. Never had any issues with ours, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
