I am currently helping my buddy with his 01 ds 650. The quad runs like a bear, always has.. but it smokes.. Its definitely oil burning, for the smoke is a deep blue. I do not know what this could be, I do not think it is compression but I need to confirm this yet. It sounds and feels like it has amazing compression, I need to borrow a tester to confirm this. Other then that all I can think of is Valve seals..


Any advice?

I have the same problem, but it started smoking like yesterday, the quad feels strong but it is leaking and burning a lot of oil. It is leaking lots of oil from the breather. some people todl me that it could be compression. But as you said it feels like it have amazing compression.
