Looking at buying an 05 Grizzly 660
#1
Hey guys, post #1
I found a reasonably priced machine the other day and have been talking with the owner via text. He posted an ad with a bad description and no pictures but in the mean time I have gotten some pictures and a little more info on the machine.
Am I not allowed to post pictures because I'm new?
The ad says that it has a custom rad relocated on rack, snorkels and is clutched. From the pictures I can see that it also has rims and what I am guessing are mud lite tires. Needs a new rear diff but it is included, just needs to be installed.
He is asking $2600 which is a great deal. I am always watching the local ads and a machine like this would normally sell for at least double that price.
I am concerned that because it is snorkled that it has been abused in the mud a lot and there is no doubt that I will need to fix up some cosmetic issues.
I would love to hear some feedback.

I would say your worry is probably valid. People don't snorkel em and relocate the radiator just for show. Couple that with the fact the rear end is out, I would guess he has abused it pretty severely. Also, I wouldn't necessarily count on the rear end that goes with it as being the correct one or actually fixing the problem. There is a reason he went through the trouble to get the rear end but didn't actually follow through and put it in. Some times if it seems too good to be true, it is...I would walk away. Just my opinion...

Those quads are pretty tough, if he tore up the rear diff, sounds like he mudded it hard and beat the living snot out of it. I would stay away from that,my bet is he found out it needs major repairs and is just trying to dump it for some quick cash. I would spend the extra money on a cleaner, less abused quad.

He lives 400kms away, I won't be able to take a look at it until the 11th when he comes through my city on the 11th. I'm still torn. Look at the pics Shaw Photo Share

Grizzlies are tough machines. I still think he beat it up pretty bad to wreck the rear diff. And he couldn't be bothered to wash it. He probably doesn't do maintenance when it's due either, but it's your money.

All I see is that juicy, sexy Can-Am in the first pic. Yumm.
