350 bruin flooding out in water

Default 350 bruin flooding out in water

yamaha bruin 350 4x4 ,not sure what the deal is but everytime i get this thing in water it floods out and i have to limp it home at if im lucky half throttle spitting and sputtering any one else have this problem

Sounds like you are getting water in your overflow tube from your carburetor. I believe there is supposed to be a one way check valve in there that keeps that from happening, but if it goes bad then anytime you get in deep water, the water can get into your fuel. You could route the hose up near the handlebars but then if your carb float ever sticks it will flood the airbox/engine. You could put a manual valve in line on the hose and turn it off while you are riding so that no water can come up. Or, if you choose to leave it how it is, just keep a screwdriver with you and drain the float bowl when it starts sputtering and that will get the water out and straighten it up.
