Default honda 200x engine problems

hi, this is my first post on this website. i was looking online for a 185s gas tank and found one. the guy i bought it from said he had a 200x engine that was running when it was taken from the bike. long story short he sold me the gas tank, a carb, a 185s rear axle, and the 200x engine for 120 bucks. i was just wondering if it was possible to swap out my 185s engine for the 200x on the same frame?

I think they are the same layout of a engine I have only ridden a 200x once but it was a kick start I think there would be some clearance issues why not swap out the top end some one correct me if I am wrong please.

i just took the top end apart to clean the cylinder because the piston was frozen. does it matter what position the piston isin when i put itback together? will i be able to adjust the valves easily? if so how do i do it?

If you removed the piston I would personally buy a piston kit hone the cylinder new rings also put in the proper way if you look at the top of the piston there should be a N that's for the intake side the N goes on the intake side of the head if the piston was seized then the rings are gonna be shot I have never set valve clearances with a head off always done it with motor complete and at TDC there I a T mark on the stator cover on most Hondas if not all I think I have a honda common service manual for valve clearances you will need a manual shoot me a PM with ur email and I will see if I can email it to you

well i didnt take it completely apart only enough of the top to see the cylinder. the top end of the cylinder was dirty with some rust and gunk. i didnt take the piston completely out cuz the bottom of the cylinder was fine. i used carb cleaner and liquid wrench to clean the top. but i moved the piston after i cleaned the cylinder and didnt realize i messed up the timing until after. its not like the early models where u take off the caps on the top and use a feeler gauge. if it was i wouldnt have a problem. it has the adjusters on the side. i put it all back together i just dont know how to reset the timing
