Hello, I'm happy to be a new forum member. Krista and I just bought a Honda TRX420TE/FE 2011 for our home in western Costa Rica. We are both new to ATV's and not mechanically inclined, but eager to learn!

Can you recommend a list of basic tools we should own to be able to maintain our new ATV in good condition? At our home there are no tools and they are hard to come by, so I plan to purchase and bring down on a visit from the US.

I am looking at the owners manual and getting some ideas of tools, but if you have suggestions of essential items for a toolbox that would be really appreciated!

Your will only need a metric socket set to done your general maintenance. The small manual you get with the atv and its tool kit will do most general maintenance.

 

Metric...

and most importantly a TORQUE WRENCH. You will need a 17mm socket for oil changes and DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE DRAIN BOLT. Use the Torque Wrench to get it right.

Other than that you may wish to buy a Service Manual.
