Sportsman 500 Question for OPT

Question Sportsman 500 Question for OPT

2001 Sportsman 500 starts right up but dies as soon as the throttle is pushed..Changed carb from another 500 and same thing..Any suggestions...

if you find the reason let me know I have the same problem with my Polaris Sportsman Touring 500, 2012

If both carbs are the same,both are clean and still does the same thing,then I'd check that you have good fuel supply to the carb. If it does pump fuel when cranking then you could have an electrical problem.Plus something simple as cleaning the pulse coil and flywheel area may be the solution.

Ya the ADC or whatever its called. Throttle freeze up safety switch. Make sure cable is adjusted properly.

My Polaris Touring 500, 2012, got this problem right after I got it, in the first few month, it was still brand new, nobody seems to be able to find out what cause this problem

Have you or the dealer eliminated any fuel supply problem with the small fuel shut off valve,filter?. Have you removed the fuel line from the carb,cranked it over to see if it pulses fuel at a steady rate.I'd look at the simple things first.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Yes we did it all, everything seems to be ok, but still have the problem, as soon as I stop the motor die

Like mentioned previously you have to have only 1/8" slack in the thumb throttle lever so the etc contacts wont touch or it will die when you let off the throttle.
