so my kids 90 falcon wont charge battery im sticking right at 12.3 at idle , i replaced voltage regulator , stator and cdi box, and i cut the whole wire harness apart looking for broken wire everything seems ok. i cut a couple solder splices out and reconnected with buttconectors and heat shrunk everything back up, thinking maybe someone at the factory got sloppy and didnt get a good connection idk. now my real question i guess is with this bike is , with the battery hooked up not running with the key on shouldnt i have 12.3 at the voltage reg (not running) at least at the red or yellow wire ? if someone has a better idea on trouble shooting this bike let me know. im sure this has been an issue with other falcons any ideas guys ? thanks

 

what was the battery voltage before you started the quad? what was the voltage with it revved up? have you checked the stator output at idle and with RPMs up? if so, what is it putting out before the battery as opposed to at the battery?

 

12.3 not running, when running 12.2. theres 36 volts off the stator , i have no power at voltage regulator ?........

 

got her figured out idk what i did but its charging 14.1 at idle. im sure it was the ground wires solder cluster eeffffed together.
