Default 06 400EX with Idle issues

Hey all, I need a little help and hopefully one of you can either point me in the right direction or walk me through what I'll need to do to it.

My Quad has been in storage for the past 3 years due to a burnt up carrier and bad Chain & sprocket set. I recently put a lot of wrench time into getting it back up and running for riding again this season. Now its always been tempermental when it comes to idling but now it doesn't want to run at all.

It fires up and will stay running so long as I keep my thumb on the throttle and feeding it juice, the minute I let off it just dies like there's no fuel getting to it. doesn't matter what temperature its at or how long I high idle it for, let off the throttle and it cuts itself off. I've tried with the Choke on full, half and off and I get the same response in all three positions. Carb is clean and all the lines are clear so I'm at a loss right now as to what the problem could be.

I Do have a Jet kit for it but I'm hesitant to install it since I haven't ever done it before. Any help or suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated since I want to get back on to the trails ASAP.

If your four wheeler sat that long it is going to need the carb cleaned. When I say clean I mean clean. It should be spotless in there. ESPECIALLY the jets. I believe your problem right now is your jets being dirty. If the jets aren't clean it will not run correctly.

Oh and drain all of your fuel if you have not already. Clean your tank out as well.

Did you completely dismantle the carb and clean every piece in there?

Same thing happened to my son's 300ex when stored for a couple years, the pilot jet feeds the idle circuit, it has extremely tiny ports in it, you may need to take some wire and rod it out or replace it, then blast it all out with carb cleaner and air to make sure its clear.
