Default DS 650 Backfiring bad.

I just bought a 2002 Baja 650 with a slip on pipe. I knew it was not running right when I bought it. It starts perfect but as soon as I hit the gas it cracks and backfires. Seems to be backfiring from the carb. I took the carb off and broke it all down. Took the jets out (170 and a 40). Cleaned everything and blew air through everything. Assembled it and still getting the backfiring, hard cracking. It will not rev out at all. I took the plugs out and they were black. Put new plugs in and still nothing. Now it will not even run without the choke on. I adjusted the pilot screw to 3 1/2 turns when I assembled the carb. I tried screwing it in and out with it running and nothing will happen, the engine stays running with it all the way in or out. I took the gas cap off to see if it wasn't getting air and nothing. Took the airbox cover off, nothing. I am supposed to be going riding Friday for a few days and would like to get this running right. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you check to make sure you had a good supply of fuel going to the carburetor?

Read the omr stock carb mods located on this forums stickeys. Sounds like your floats are out of level.
