Well its been a while since I have posted on this forum since winter has been around, and not riding much. But spring is here, and last time i looked into it (last summer) K&N didnt make an air filter for the 2000 Kodiak. Is there one now?

Yes, they sure do. I know Highlifter sells them at their web site.

You mean I wasted all that time making my own custom air box adapter for the K&N? I have never seen an adapter for the airbox that will take a clamp on filter. I talked with Laine from High Lifter and he said K&N put the filter on the ""back burner"" and didnt know when it was coming out. This was about a month ago so maybe things have changed. At least I saved some money and had fun making mine.

wrefer if you are interested I have some pics of the adapter I made with a K&N on it. The pics are large to show detail. They will take longer than usual to load up.

Later all.

I'll say it again, I've had a K&N filter in my 2000 Kodiak since the day I bought it, almost two years ago. The air box is the exact same as the 99 Kodiak, and the filter is the exact same.

Thats great. I never seen a 99 model Kodiak. Everyone I always talked to said they were different in design and the 99 wouldnt work. I will start telling everyone in HighLifter you said the 99 model K&N adapter will fit the 2000 models. They will be glad to hear that. I still had fun making mine and the filter only cost $27.99 so I saved some money. Did K&N make the adapter too or was if Pro-flow?

I don't have an adapter on mine, the K&N fits right in the stock air box.

According to www.rockymountainatv.com they sell the K&N filter
Air Filter, Yamaha Kodiak 00-01 N/A $39.99
Air Filter, Yamaha Kodiak 93-99 N/A $34.99

Seems there is two different fits.

The K&N is just like the stocker. It has a tab on both sides that slide into position, one on the air box side, one on the lid side. I am considering making a clamp adapter, or install the pro-flow setup.
